Investing in your health after a cancer diagnosis is very important.
Your Certified PINC or STEEL Physiotherapist will design each treatment session to suit your individual requirements and help you function at optimal levels throughout your treatment and remain physically active.
Physical impairments that might be relatively easily addressed by rehabilitation interventions if detected early can become very difficult to treat and costly if they have progressed over weeks, months or years. It is important if you are worried about something (for example, something is painful or doesn't move well), you need to get a certified physiotherapists to assess you.
It doesn't matter how far down the track you are since your diagnosis, your certified physiotherapist is there to help and support you.
Private Health funds or Private Medical Insurance will normally refund the cost of post-operative physiotherapy depending on your cover.
The initial assessment session is for an hour and the cost varies slightly between individual Physiotherapy clinics delivering the program across Australasia, South Africa, Canada and the UK.
Please contact your local PINC & STEEL Certified clinic to find out exact costs in your region.
The costs are the same as standard physiotherapy rates or if you live in NZ we have funding available from the PINC & STEEL Cancer Rehabilitation Trust to subsidise the cost. The max surgcharge will only be $10 per visit.
Your local PINC & STEEL Physiotherapy clinic may also have Next Steps, PaddleOn or Pilates classes available (approx $10 - $25) that you may be able to attend once you have been assessed and treated. NEXT STEPS is fully funded in NZ so there is no cost for participants.
We have gift vouchers available for individual sessions if family and friends would like to support women or men they know through their rehabilitation program. See more info on gifting sessions.
The PINC & STEEL Cancer Rehabilitation Trust is a volunteer driven registered charity that is dedicated to fundraising for individuals to participate in our programs in New Zealand.
